Our Company was founded in 1982 by Mr. Hylton E. Donaldson, a Professional Land Surveyor licensed in the states of Indiana and Illinois.
Mr. Donaldson has been providing his expertise in professional land surveying to a variety of Residential, Industrial and Commercial clients in the areas of Boundary Surveying and Dispute consulting, Topographical Surveying, Condominium Surveys, Mortgage Inspection/Surveyor Location Reports, FEMA Flood Certification, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Construction Staking/Project Supervision services, Subdivision Planning and Design, and Engineering and Global Positioning System (GPS) Surveys.
The founder and CEO of the company, Hylton E. Donaldson, is a 1969 mathematics, physics, geology graduate of the University of the West Indies. In June, 1969, following on four years of summer employment at the Survey Department, Kingston, Jamaica, Mr. Donaldson was appointed by the Government of Jamaica to pursue a career in land surveying.
Following a one-year orientation in land surveying under the supervision of Government Surveyors at the Survey Department, 1970, Mr. Donaldson was awarded a British Technical Assistance Fellowship to the School of Military Survey in Newbury, Berkshire, England where he completed Army Survey Course 46 in 1971 and in September of 1971 his fellowship was continued when he was admitted to University College London to pursue the Postgraduate Course in Land Surveying in the Department of Land Surveying and Photogrammetry. In 1973, following his professional training, Mr. Donaldson successfully completed the written Final Examinations (Land Surveying Division) of the Royal Institution of
Chartered Surveyors. He continued his employment at the Survey Department, Jamaica, where he contributed to the effective use of the computer and was a team leader on various major land surveying projects of the Survey Department up until November, 1978.
In January, 1979, Mr. Donaldson was employed by American Consulting Engineers, Inc., of Indianapolis, Indiana, where his duties included Boundary surveying, Topographical Surveying, Route Surveying for Highways, Railroads, and Bridges.
In July, 1982, H. Donaldson Associates, Inc., was founded and with successive registrations in Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin, Mr. Donaldson continued his professional land surveying practice throughout the region of Northwest Indiana, Northeast Illinois, and Southwest Wisconsin.
